Sunday 25 - Saturday 31 January 2009 Tramping in the Arthur's Pass Area

Christchurch to Arthur's Pass, Waimakariri to Carrington Hut, Harman Pass to Julia Hut,

 Taipo to Dillon's Hut, Kelly Tops to Carroll Hut, descend to H73 near Otira and then to Christchurch.

This route is well described in the Lonely Planet "Tramping in NZ" book.

Waitangi Weekend 5-7 February Tramping in the Tararuas

Saturday 14th February 2009 Cornwallis to Awhitu Lighthouse.

An easy tramp across farmland to the lighthouse, where we will have lunch and visit the lighthouse.

We will have time for a swim at Wattle Bay before returning to Cornwallis at 3- 30pm.

Meet at Cornwallis Wharf at 9 45. Boat trip $18 return.

Close off date 10th February. A donation for the upkeep of the lighthouse would be most welcome.

Walk approx 40mins over the headland and around the coast to beautiful Tawhitokino Beach.

Have a picnic lunch, swim or play on the beach. Low tide 11:37 am.
