Saturday 8 May Motuihe Island Restoration

Motuihe Island is a fabulous place that is being restored as a bird sanctuary by the Motuihe Trust. www.motuihe.org.nz

The Island has been predator free since 2005 and already Kiwi, Saddlebacks and Kakariki have been released and are thriving.

Over 50,000 trees are planted each year. Help is needed for planting and nursery work. All equipment is provided. ASC members have provided great support over past years and we hope to have another good turnout this year. The 360 Discovery Ferry leaves Pier 4 on Quay Street at 8-00am.

After helping for about 2 or 3 hours, a BBQ sausage lunch and drinks are provided, leaving time for a walk around parts of the island

before catching the ferry leaving Motuihe at 1-00pm, 3-30pm or 5-00pm.

The ferry cost for volunteers is $15 return and a $4 parking voucher is available for the Downtown car park.

Bookings are necessary.
