January 2012 – Ruapehu Outing

Spend time at the Ruapehu Hut over January and explore the multitude of attractions and opportunities that are available in the surrounding districts. It is hoped that the hut will be open for a good portion of January, so turn up and enjoy the facilities and all that the area has to offer.

Anniversary Weekend –Friday 27 to Tuesday 31 January- Kaimanawa Traverse

Extra days added to the long weekend, allow a full 5 day traverse of the Western Kaimanawas.

From the highest Point on the Desert Rd to Umukarikari, travel is mostly on the open tops with superb views and probably wild horses

Camping all 4 nights. Moderate to good fitness required for some longer days.

A great trip. Camp at Home Bay Friday evening.

Come and enjoy a weekend of fun in the Waitakere Hut. Bring your friends and families. Some camping available.

The Rotary Club of Waipukurau has planned another weekend of unique and scenic walks in Central Hawke’s Bay. These walks are very popular and well worth planning to participate in. Perhaps combine with another activity in the vicinity,

Preliminary notice of planned Rakiura tramp followed by a couple of days at Mason’s Bay.

Then a few days in Queenstown (possibly the Breast Hill track and/or day tramps).

17/18 March Warkworth Rotary Walk

The walks will offer a unique and memorable two day experience.

It includes Mount Tamahunga, Pakiri Coastal Beach and private walks on Kawau Island.

Over two full days ; climb our mountains, meet the surf on our impressive coastline,

wander through Northland native forest then travel by ferry to Kawau Island

returning from Mansion House on the restored sailing scow  Jane Gifford.

Organised by the Warkworth Rotary Club with all profits benefiting and supporting our local communities.

Rotary Club of Milton Tramping Club

The 2011/2012 programme is now available. Check out www.otagorotarytrusttramps.org.nz for full details. Some of these trips are based at Lodges (Catlins, Ohau, Fiordland National Park etc) and offer day tramps and other activities.
